El Vuelo de la Cometa Hosts Its First Summer Camp in Manizales, Colombia

The Ismael Cala Foundation, in partnership with Fundación Momentia, successfully held the first El Vuelo de la Cometa Summer Camp in Colombia

Manizales, Caldas — October 2025. The Ismael Cala Foundation, in partnership with Fundación Momentia, successfully hosted the first El Vuelo de la Cometa Summer Camp in Colombia, a transformative experience designed to strengthen emotional intelligence, leadership, and self-awareness in adolescents.

The camp took place from October 6 to 10, 2025, at Huerto de los Aromas, Recinto del Pensamiento, a natural setting that provided the ideal environment for experiential learning and connection with the program’s values.

This first edition brought together 21 adolescents, of whom 19 completed the full training process with 100% active participation. The team included three certified facilitators — Luis Felipe Sánchez, Isabela Callejas, and Diva Nelly Mejía — along with a group of committed volunteers who supported both the educational and recreational components of the camp.

The Summer Camp had several main goals: to increase the program’s visibility at the regional level, raise funds for future implementations, strengthen local partnerships, and test a camp model that can be replicated in 2026.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in meaningful experiences such as kite-building and flying, self-care and emotional management activities, the segment “Laughing Wisely,” and the inspiring Learning Fair, where the teens presented their “emotional products” in an entrepreneurship fair format.

Among the camp’s main achievements were the increased visibility of El Vuelo de la Cometa in the department of Caldas, the strengthening of partnerships with the education and business sectors, and participation in the Public-Private Alliance for Education for Competitiveness, through which ten students from the alliance took part in the camp.

The event received support from CHEC – Grupo EPM as the main sponsor, as well as the Coffee Growers Committee, the Public-Private Alliance for Education for Competitiveness, and Recinto del Pensamiento, all of which made this initiative possible.

With this first Summer Camp in the Colombian region, the Ismael Cala Foundation, in partnership with Fundación Momentia, reaffirms its commitment to the holistic development of new generations in Colombia by promoting socio-emotional skills that contribute to a culture of peace, resilience, and conscious leadership.
