The Social & Emotional Leadership Institute (SELI) is a strategic institutional initiative of the Ismael Cala Foundation designed to elevate the Foundation from a successful program implementer into a globally recognised centre for research, training, and innovation in social-emotional learning, conscious leadership, and youth development.
Over the past decade, the Ismael Cala Foundation has implemented programs that promote emotional intelligence, leadership, and personal development among young people across several countries. The program El Vuelo de la Cometa represents the Foundation’s most recognised methodology and has reached thousands of participants.
Despite these achievements, the evolving landscape of philanthropy and social impact increasingly requires organisations to demonstrate rigorous evidence of effectiveness, scalable program models, and institutional structures capable of sustaining long-term growth.
SELI addresses these needs by creating a formal institute that integrates education, research, and leadership development under a single institutional framework.
The mission of the Social & Emotional Leadership Institute is to empower children, youth, educators, and professionals to lead with empathy, resilience, and purpose through social-emotional learning, mindfulness, and conscious leadership.
The institute envisions a generation of emotionally intelligent leaders who create measurable positive change in their communities and institutions worldwide.
